I'll definitely make it on at some point, I'd like to try the PvP thing out. My toon is called Zogdor - we're all full of such originality, heh? Very Happy

Yay Smile I'll still be running around on Oolou, but will also be trying out a nightblade build too - depending on how much time I have.

Zog - check on the launcher that you have the american region selected, rather than the european region as they are only opening up the US server. Mine was auto on on the european version so needed to be changed. (Top right of launcher, the wheel cog icon for the options).

Patch Notes:

Beta Session 0.171 Patch Notes

ZOS_JessicaFolsomZOS_JessicaFolsom Administrator, Moderator admin

February 25 edited February 25 in Patch Notes

The Elder Scrolls Online v0.171 focuses on stability at high peak user load as we prep for launch day.

Please be aware that this is not the build currently on our PTS that has been in the news recently. That version is still in testing and is being refined on our PTS server before it is ready for a mass test. This test focuses on the overall stability of the game’s underlying infrastructure. Our goal for this test is to have very short – or no – login queues and to have an overall smooth user experience for our worldwide audience.

Here’s a brief overview of what awaits you in this test:
•Continue your characters from v0.17.
•Play through level 1-17 content for all three alliances.
•Create up to eight characters, increased from four.
•Fight for your alliance by participating in the Alliance War in Cyrodiil.

During this test, you will have access to the following areas: •Khenarthi’s Roost
•Auridon
•Stros M’Kai
•Betnikh
•Glenumbra
•Bleakrock Isle
•Bal Foyen
•Stonefalls
•Cyrodiil

TEST GOALS

For this test, we have a few goals we’d like you to try to reach while playing the game. •Attain level 10 on at least one character.
•Reach Rank 10 in any crafting skill.
•Find and complete at least one group dungeon.
•Travel to Cyrodiil and participate in the Alliance War.

FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS •Fixes for game stability at scale

I'm in, but it looks like I'm on the EU server, does that mean I won't meet you guys? I was playing with a US friend last time...

And it's over again Sad

I had loads of connecting probs in the early hours of Sunday but that seemed to be a common problem for all at the time, going by the chat. And then all of a sudden it went smooth again for the rest of the time.

As usual there was too much that I wanted to do in the short time available, but tried out the nightblade class and really liked it. Then switched to the templar I'd played last beta and ran her around the PvE area, getting her up to lvl 14 and was just about to start 'Vengeance for House Dres' in Kragenmoor when the beta came to an end.

I want my ESO!

I think the main peeve I had was that it seemed to be nighttime a lot. Apparently the day/night cycle runs over a 5 hour period, and maybe I had bad timing but I would prefer a greater bias to daytime than nighttime - its all so pretty it's just a shame that its in darkness for so much time - and also I kept on running into obstacles that I simply couldn't see.  I ended up logging into a low lvl toon that never got off bleakrock last time and went hunting for crafting resources - as at least I could see something there with all the snow :p

Asides from that I loved it.

Also got to touch base with the lads in the guild I've joined who'll be on the EU server. So far we've got about 20 in the guild and they're aiming for an eventual size of 50-60. Anyway, they seem like nice peeps so far. Smile

I enjoyed it more this time around, but I won't be purchasing it...

I have already invested so much in DDO and this is quite a fair amount to pay for a new game (monthly fees etc), especially when I don't know whether I'll still be interested in a few months' time. Plus, some other stuff is going on and I'm not even sure I'll be online that much ater June...

Nice!

Although actually, I'm kinda wanting to wait for the launch now, rather than do more beta testing.

On the other hand I made almost enough gold last time to buy a horse, so would be cool to try that out Smile

Cool ^^

Another beta this weekend - apparently for this weekend's beta you can try out the imperial race. It is also the last of the stress test betas.

Yup! I'm on the EU server and am finding cyrodiil to be a lot better this time around. Still getting occasional lag and some disconnects, but its definitely better.

And loving the horses! I'd gathered enough gold to buy one this time around and then discovered they only cost 1 gold for this test ... lol. Bought a bunch of siege Equipment instead! Anyway, love riding about on a horse. Could do it for hours - I'm so easily pleased Wink

Sorry about that oops again, Zog. But discovered by getting your mail that there is no reply option to mails which seemed odd, unless I was being blind.

Indeed! I discovered that too.

I logged in a couple of times and the second time I hesitated as to whether I should do PvE or PvP and realised that I didn't really feel like doing either, so instead I logged into DDO. I guess that removes any shadow of doubt in my mind. While the game looks very pretty and has a good PvP mechanic, I don't think it has enough to grab my attention like DDO did. I could easily be tempted to try it out, but it's too much of an investment for something that I think would eventually just be a 9-day wonder. I'll keep enjoying the new content in DDO instead and do a few epic TRs every here and there!

Good luck with ESO to those who are going to give it a try, it's a decent game and I'd be interested to see how it is doing in 6 months' time.

Fair enough, Zog Smile I'll keep you updated!  Kick off is this Sunday and it's probably going to be a nightmare initially, although they're prepping for it by having overflow servers ready.  Sooo excited though. I'm really looking forward to doing all the crafting stuff! And even though I'll be on the EU server, apparently you can also play on the NA server too. Characters are bound to the server, so in effect it means having up to 16 toons on the go. I'll be in altaholic heaven Very Happy

Anto, discounted subscription plans have been announced, with a dollar off per month for a 90 day sub, and 2 dollars off per month for a 180 day sub. Subs can be ongoing or one-offs. Those in the UK have been favoured somewhat as they are getting a pound and 2 pounds off respectively - and given the rate of exchange, that's quite a few more free days than the US players are getting.  :p

How's it going? I saw that they have had to close the NA server already for maintenance issues... what is lag like now that it's gone live?

Lag hasn't been too bad, and yea, servers have been down once in a while....which is totally annoying, I have 9 levels to get today before people get home from work!

The lag issues seem to be fine on the EU server Smile There was an hours downtime on day 2 for maintenance which fixed a couple quests that had bugged for me. And there's another bit of downtime now (yah, its the only reason I'm here ^^ ) which I'm hoping will fix another quest that is stuck for me.  Had no probs logging on, no queues or anything like that. Generally I'm being told that compared to launches of other big games, this has gone pretty smooth. But the main launch still hasn't happened, this is just all the peeps who preordered. So it could all fall down still.

So far, I'm just shy of lvl 15 and in absolute heaven. Love this game =)  Running around with a wood elf nightblade in the ebonheart pact who will also be a master clothier (light and medium armour). Also got a templar and a dragonknight made who right now are acting as bank toons and to reserve the names I wanted.

Spend most of my play time on day 2 and some of day 3 in the PVP area. So addictive. Soon as I hit lvl 10 I ran there Very Happy Today been lvling a bit more.

Someone did hit lvl 50 within the first 24 hours. General reaction on chat from the players present when the news hit was 'what a sad git'. Made me giggle.

Horses seem to be buggy still. I don't have one as I didnt get the imperial version and its going to take a week or so to get the gold to buy one - but running around cyrodiil, kept noticing loads of characters jumping on and off the horses a lot and swearing about the horses being bugged  Very Happy

Tomorrow, apparently I have to attend to this thing called RL.  Booo :p
