Ok so for the past week I have been unable to play DDO, at first it was lagging very badly, went into options and made sure everything to do with graphics was on low or medium, still lagged. Thought it was because of the Mabar festival but that's over. Now it's worse. Takes 20min to get it to load now and once I get it up and running if I try to do anything it crashes. Was wondering, now, if it's because of the way I downloaded it, choosing the option to DL and play, but it wouldn't let me play at the same time anyway and from what I've come across from searching, including here on the DDO forum: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/416786-i-need-help-i-can-not-resolve-about-happy-cloud-problem - that maybe this is the case. Not sure how to fix it but I'm peeved, was really enjoying it. Was hoping maybe someone would have some ideas or ways to fix/correct the issue. Should I uninstall Happy Cloud? Uninstall/then reinstall DDO? Suspect

edited to add: It seems like everytime my computer starts to lag, that Happy Cloud thing is running and I'm not even on DDO. Or I'm just being paranoid and it's suppose to? LOL gah this sucks lol

Uninstall happy cloud. Its not required and I never heard of it...

If that don't fix, try a reinstall. There was a patch and I think yours might not have updated correct

Yeah it was the oddest thing, kept seeing it running and wondering where the hell it came from, but apparently it comes with the play as you download option. I uninstalled it and it made no difference, this time I could only get to the toon log in and my toon wouldn't even come up before it locked up. Sooo...I'm reinstalling, using the regular download option this time, and will let you know if it worked or not. ((HUG))

I've never used the play as you download option. Actually, didn't even know there was such an option lol.

Just a note though. After you download and install the regular version, there is a program that comes with it for the install called Pando media booster or something like that (I know the Pando part is right). Once it's installed and running, you can uninstall Pando; it's just for the install but not needed for the game itself to run.

Woke up this morning and it was still downloading. Used the regular download option this time and it still didn't download properly, ended up with a folder on my desktop with all the installation folders in it with them wanting me to use a media player for the bin files (argh) and had to hunt down the exe file to pin it to my start menu. Pain in the arse, and the load time was way worse, BUT...it worked! Was able to play for a couple hours today Very Happy with minimal lag, and no Happy Cloud crap installed either with it this time! Thank you for the reminder Jill cause I still have to uninstall Pando and would have forgotten actually :/ ((BIG HUGS))

P.S. After dealing with all of this and it finally loaded, I accidentally hit the X-close window instead of the smaller window from the trade/buy/sell items box in the tavern. Talk about some serious cussing going on, thankfully no one was home to hear me. Laughing
