Yep, the Amazon is a lot of fun. My main character is following that build. Of course that 28 points may not be optimal, but there are ways around it. And also, from the playing times I see it is likely that this group will advance very slowly, so there's not much need to worry about being maxed out in stats for endgame or any of that.

Starting to shape up =)

Zogdor - Bard (dps or allrounder)
Seldomseen - Cleric (bringing the heals)
Beth - ? fit in with what's needed
Edrahil - tank or caster
Aidan - Ranger/Barb/Rogue (dps + traps)
Anto - ?

Edrahil, which role you leaning towards? I'll probably go for the other one.

I like the paladin tank more than the caster idea.

Mmm.... I'm not sure about this, It sounds interesting but I'm not sure about my amount of time. Right now I feel quite limited. But that might change? Might just be this crappy university course that sucks energy from me like a evil sponge Evil or Very Mad

Nice one, Aidan ^^ And that's also settled which server we'll be on - Ghallanda!
Edrahil, marked you down as paladin tank for now. I'll start investigating wizzies and sorcs =)

Zogdor - Bard (dps or allrounder)
Seldomseen - Cleric (bringing the heals)
Beth - Caster of some sort
Edrahil - Paladin tank
Aidan - Ranger/Barb/Rogue (dps + traps)
Anto - ?

Zakku and Telcara, you're welcome to join in Smile The way I see it there will likely be one or two in the group who won't make every meet, so there's room to sub in. And I'm also happy to make a second toon to fill out a second group on a different evening if more want to do this and there's free spots. I think as long as there's some sort of log of quests done and at what difficulty so we all remain at roughly the same level - or know how far to catch up if a few meets are missed - then its all good.

Beth there are a few debates on the DDO forum about wizards vs sorcerers, here are a few of my views

Wizards have access to all spells (Although some of the scrolls needed for inscription are only found in chest not vendors)

I believe wizards spells take longer to cast and have higher cooldown rates.the main stat if i remeber correctly is INT which isnt used for anything else (disable traps maybe, cant remember), you can change your spells at rest shrines/taverns, so if you are familiar qith a quest, you can chose what is best suited for the groups youll face.

Sorcerer, once you take the spell can only be changed at a skill trainer, cost PP and only 1 spell every 3 days. Main stat is Chr which is used also for diplomacy, and haggle and I think a couple more....I believe the spells cast quicker than from wizards, and have a shorter cooldown. At level 7 Mihaly can solo quest up to level 6-7 range on normal, and I have done most of the quest up to level 4 on elite (solo with a cleric with DV). I do know I burn through mana like water, I could just imagine how much mana I would burn as a wizard.

Either way I would recommend reading the ddowiki pages on both wizards and sorcerers before making a choice.

from ddo forum, neither are better really:

Sorcs:

* They get a lot more SP (around 2600 SP by end-game), and can cast much faster.
* They get less spells, and can only change one out every 3 days...

Wizards:

* They get a lot less SP (around 1700 SP by end-game), and cast slower
* They get more spells, and can change them at will...
* They get bonus feats at levels 1,5,10,15,20

also, with right gear, wizards can get well over 2000 SP end game, they can have better DC's (difficulty checks) on their spells, and if they have the quicken feat they cast very fast (faster than a sorc without, just as fast as a sorc with)

Really looking forward to this too !

Decided to go for a human wizard, following the elementalist build here: http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p=2843434&postcount=70

Okay, so see you guys tomorrow night on the Ghallanda server in Korthos village. Meet in the tav there at 17.00 EST (22.00 GMT)! If there is a choice of instances, let's always go for the first one on the list. When you know your toons name, put it here so if we're having probs finding each other, we can at least send out some tells =)

Zogdor - Pardrus - Bard (dps or allrounder)
Seldomseen - Cleric (bringing the heals)
Beth - Septa - Wizard
Edrahil - Paladin tank
Aidan - Ranger/Barb/Rogue (dps + traps)
Anto - ?

My toon is called Pardrus and I've already done the intro part with the rogue, so I'm waiting in the tavern in Korthos village (Ghallanda).

I shouldn't be more than 15 minutes late though!

What I would recommend is to all the village quest on normal ,
Withjout the extras we should get 391 from heytons, 325 from storehouse, 275 from cannith crystal and 873 from collaborator on normal.

On hard we should get 406,338,286,908.

for a total of 3802.

then we can do storehouse on elite for 416, heytons on elite for 500, which we should be above 4718 and most times i have started a new char ( which i have done alot and then deleted them as i was dissatisfied with them) we should, with the extras, be able to advance to level 2

then we do cannith crystal on elite and collaborator on elite for 352 and 1118which should push us up over 6K xp. then we go tackle the island slayers and rares and quest. the only island quest i dread doing more than once is Misery peak, but if you do it once on normal, once on hard and once on elite you do get about 6K xp and if you do all the island quest on normal, hard and elite the other 4 quest will yield and addition 8k xp which will set us up pretty well for the harbor quest.

when I was doing these solo, I usually did normal , hard and elite in village, then leveled and did the island on normal and elite and miserypeak on elite only because MP is a pain and boring to do alone, but you do leave quite a bit xp on the table.

Another option would be to run the village quest on Normal/Normal/Normal/Hard/elite ( the quest are pretty quick) which would yield about 5k after the normals, we then level and do them on hard/elite which yields anothe 10 K , we can then do the easy 4 island quest level and do MP on elite, Which would give another 4200 with the slayers, rares and locations 1500 for location, 900 for rares and 775 for 200 kills ( easy enough to reach) will put us close to level 3.

any thoughts?

I think milking all the xp we can is a good way to go as we'll be focussing on the free to play content, as not everyone will have the various p2p packs. But if we find we're getting bored with some of the content, we can skip ahead to the harbour and return to the island to finish there later. Given that you know the numbers and have put some thought into this, I'm also cool with you calling the shots on which route to follow Wink

well it will be a group choice, I will also start the Guild and turn it over to anto, if he wants it.
Btw I just went to start another cleric, using a different set of enhancements...thing is it never asked me for the enhancement and when i reach korthos i had no enhancements. I will check DDO.com to see what changes were made today.

no they are unlocked when your a vip automatically

BTW clerics name is Caudderly Bonaduce (or something like that), Guild is Static NNGO, unless you what to chang name which is easy as deleting guild and making a new one.

Had to create him 3 times as once I thought i screwed up his initial stats so I deleted after doing the solo quest to get to village, then once i thought i forgot something else, only to realize after deleted him I didnt. But he is in tavern waiting for everyone.

You are right h/h/h/n/e would give slightly more xp.The example give in ddowiki, used koldbolds new ring leader and elite/e/e/n/h gave alittle more xp than h/h/h/n/e which gave alittle more than N/N/N/H/E....but I dont think level 1 would be able to do the korthos quest on elite. if you take into account the time to do elite vs time to do normal, it would probably be faster to do n/n/n/h/e/ also.

link to wiki xp discussion, it is at bottom called art of xp

the most xp to get of any quest is elite X3, then hard, then normal... Smile

you get max base xp doing elite. when you redo a quest, you get a penalty for repetition after 3 completions. On your 4th, you switch difficulties, to get a first time bonus. Then switch again.

Most people do N/N/N/H/E cuz its a good momentum and easy; but E/E/E/H/N should be the max xp possible per quest. Granted tho, doing it n/n/n/h/e is much much easier to do.
