Mine is an Imperial and so far I'm geared more towards a barb. Going 2 handed battleaxe, heavy armored. I'm only really upgrading heavy armor, two-handed, locksmithing and a little of speech. I could try branching out to learn some magic but it seems for the best that I don't. From what I've read, with the Companions, they don't really like magic and they can turn me into a werewolf anyway.

Can I make lockpicks with smithing? Because that's really the only thing I could want. The Companions also let me upgrade their forge later, I hear?

Yeah, I read a fewwww spoilers but not everything. I just find the Companions part of my storyline exciting.

How's everybody doing with Skyrim? The more quests I do, the more into it I get. Up to level 8, almost, and just joined the Companions. Think I'll have my char marry Farkas though I'm not sure.

Dunno about ps2, but I think yes it got GOTY both on it and on PC.

1st was ace, second was so-so, third is better than second.

Wont play Skyrim. They're watering it down more and more with each part. How many skills there are left lol ?

I haven't counted but there's 18 skills, with subskills. For example, I just maxed out two-handed weapons, so I now have a skill that causes enemies to bleed more when I use a battleaxe. And then there's the entire magic section, which I haven't looked at.

How many skills were in the previous versions? TBH, this is enough for me. It's fairly easy for me to decide where I want my skill focus the way it is now. I hate playing games where 20 levels in, I'm all, oh crap, I should have put my points in elsewhere.

I'm not really digging Skyrim, I did like Oblivion a lot though. Need to give Skyrim a year or two for them to work out all the bugs and do 1,000 patches until it's playable properly. I stopped playing that for the new Assassin's Creed.

Skyrim is now sitting with Oblivion, Dragon Age, and every other xbox RPG I've bought. >_<; Just can't keep me interested like WoW or MW3 can. I think console RPG's just haven't been the same since FFVII....

One of my favorite councilmen, Dan Halloran, has just updated his status to say he's playing Skyrim. Laughing He's a Norse pagan(Theodish), so I really shouldn't be surprised. I've played Viking Clan with him before. LOL.

I already did all major quest lines in Skyrim. Razz Companions, btw, are short and I wouldn't call them most interesting.

They're short? I just thought I was really tall? Razz

I'm doing some quests in Riften now. Maybe I'll join the Thieves, if that doesn't conflict with being a Companion?

I wish they gave the level zones, so I'd know better where to kill things. I just did Siege on the Dragon Cult and it was kicking my ass. Had to learn a healing potion cheat just to finish the damned thing.

Who would you call most interesting?

(btw, lately, your name makes me want BBQ.)

In TES series you can join all groups you want, it won't conflict. Some people say it's too weird to be archmage, master thief, leader of assasins and chief warrior and do separate chars for every questline, but I just do all-in-one, I'm not such a fan of TES to play it over and over again.
In Skyrim, I liked thieves>assasins>mages>companions. (That's maybe because I like stealthy stile).Tho I wouldn't say any of them are truly great, just kinda average/not bad.

Wel, I'm pretty good with stealth and lockpicks, so I'll give it a whirl. Do you know if heavy armor would effect thievery? Oh and I haven't done much pickpocketing, so I suppose that might be an issue.

Likely wont do mage because I haven't trained any magic and I don't think I want to.

Yea, heavy armor makes you loud. Just undress when you'll need to quietly walk in someones house lol And they will give you quite cool light armor later.

locking picking goes with any characterbuild as all you need is the picks, and pickpocket is good for making you rich as you get endless jeweled necklaces and a 100 extra load perk.

Best stone is the loverstone becuase it gives you 15% bonus to learning all skills instead of the guardian stones giving 20% in one set of skills.

Consider looking up some unique weapons in the game as they will be very powerful Very Happy

All my friends seem to go your route, even though they're TES obsessed, this is my first one of the series which is probably why I went all seperate characters having a dark elf archmage, a khajit assasin/thief, an orc barb stormcloak and a nord warrior imperial

To get better chances, picpocket sleeping people.

As for weapon - best weapons are those which you can make with 100 smithing, use potions and enchantment to make them uber-deadly (game can become too easy then though).

And Aidann,
Spoiler:

As for Oblivion - I haven't played it, actually.

Only cheat I've used in the game so far is for free healing potions and I'll likely use that for free lockpicks if I need them. I'm thinking of storing my dragon bones in the Companions Guild because I'm fairly certain the Harbinger's room is mine. Still unsure if that room will reset or not. But it's a bit of a comfort knowing I can just use the command console to get them back, if I want. I don't want to buy the Breezehome for 5,000, if I can save up for 25,000 house elsewhere. Razz

Cheat codes, for who wants them.

You really don't need cheats, even if you, like me, take not all loot but just cash+most valuable items, you can have piles of gold soon. Skyrim is really easy game, no point in cheating. I bought all houses, except one in Windhelm (coz can't start butchers quest).
Don't store anything in barrels, I heard they do reset even in your houses.

Well, for the quest I mentioned before, the healing potion code really helped me out. But I'm finding all other quests simple by comparison. And I really wish the dragons were harder to beat. It makes no sense to me that half the mobs are easier to beat than dragons.

Everything else is just my lack of patience. I'm going to have to practice some restraint, otherwise I'll have everything maxed out by tomorrow. Razz

Why pay for a house when you can just kill people and live in theirs?

Skyrim is like Fallout 3. If you kill an innocent, all the guards come after you and a bounty is added to your head. But the bounty doesn't matter because you likely wouldn't survive the guards. And if you don't own the property, the chests get reset regardless.
