Just a heads up on the guild chest - yes you can use it. Anything in it is considered up for grabs for whoever. Don't feel guilty about taking something - if you see a tome there, or cure pots or a fancy bit of equipment of whatever that will enhance/help your toon then take it!

The only thing not to do is to take stuff out just to vendor it for plat. If you are in need of plat to buy something at the AH, let us know here. It may be that what you're wanting to buy, one of us already has in our banks that we can pass on - or we may be able to craft it for you. Or just send you some plat to assist the purchase.

Every now and then an officer will clear out old stuff that's been in there forever.

Enjoy!

Right on, Beth!

Also if you need something you don't see in the chest, just ask - someone probably either already has the item or has a line on it.

Now, that said, we (probably) won't spoil you by giving you 1,000,000 platinum pieces at level 1 to buy all the stuff you want - hehe. And, it's a helluva lot of fun earning your items by risking your neck killing foes and prying the loot out of their dead hands. Twisted Evil

However, despite your best efforts whilst racking up the kill count, sometimes you just can't seem to find/pull a much-needed item and that's where the guild can help (so you don't get ripped off paying too much for items on the auction house). A nice item or a +1 tome to round out a stat can make a big difference, especially at lower levels, so just ask if you need help obtaining something special. Smile

My biggest problem is I don't know what I need. lol I know that heavy armor isn't something that's best for me, so did put that in the chest. Also, I did notice there's a limit on how much can be put in there, so any guidelines on that?

It will take some time to understand what is valuable, and what isn't. Named items are usually more rare ect; some scrolls are worth good money etc;

If you aren't sure, you can always ask in guild chat or post here. Periodically we go through the guild chest and clear out things that no one is taking, so don't worry about filling the chest up.

Now that tomes persist through TR, you only ever need one of any given stat per toon. The price has fallen significantly. So go for it Smile

yea, i was feeling generous so i threw in two +2 INT tomes in there. they were a decent price on the AH Smile

a +2 INT tome is probably the most important, because it gives you an extra skill point each time you level up. you can eat them at level 7 the earliest, so that means by eating a +2 INT tome at level 7 you gain 13 skill points by level 20 over not using them
