PostSubject: The Tear of Dhakaan   Thu Sep 30, 2010 5:07 am

Tried this quest (lvl 7 House K) last night on normal with a hireling cleric and was kinda blown over by the amount of xp from it compared to what I'm used to (around 5k) and the number of treasure chests. And that was just from a straight run through with no optionals, just hitting the mobs. Am told that if the optionals are done that it can be close to 7k xp?

Anybody up for a run through this as a group? ^^

(any clues on how to tackle the optionals also appreciated ^^ )

You'll need a strong group to do the optionals... it's a bit of a grind.

Another awesome xp/loot run is Gwylans Stand ... I love that quest since it's a trap monkeys dream. We had I think 12 deaths and still got over 7k xp on it

I'm up for running it if you want... I'd use Carita tho... want to get her leveled up (and yes I know...she isn't in the guild Razz) And Bell still needs lots of work...thinking I may re roll her

Trying not to drool on the keyboard at the thought of 20k xp. Seriously.

Bella, that would be fantastic ^^ I'm hoping that Gilders will be back soon as I know he'd love the quest too (if he hasn't already tried it) so it would be great to try a run when he's back online.

I'm always up for anything, as long as you have patience with the fact that, if there is a way to fall off of the walkway into water, I will do it without fail. I'm a bit low level though.

the 20k is with all the optionals, you do need a rogue to get all the optionals. Wink

also, another good way to farm XP is 'window farming' the last part of the delera's chain on elite.

ran it 3 times in about 40 mins with a group, got almost 40k xp Smile

window farming, is when there is a quest chain but instead of completing the chain you keep running the last part (or the part that gives most efficient amount of xp)

to do this, after you beat the quest, everyone recalls out except 1 person who stays in. then, someone in the group clicks on the quest entrance, bringing up the portal. because it is 'active' it will allow you to enter, instead of giving you the usual message 'you are not on right goal' ect ect.

then, keeping that 'window' open, the last person recalls out. the quest will immediately go inactive, but the person with the window open can re-enter.

its kinda hard to explain lol

Making a note of how to window farm! Very Happy

Grace - I'm still trying to master how to run in a straight line so you'll have company in falling off walkways Wink

Atm, I have a level 8 pally (vet build, working on her) and a lvl 7 sorc (adventurer build, she's going to go bye-bye eventually) so if I'm on, let me know which toon you want for a run Smile

Did a run of it last night with Gilders and Mihaly on normal - which was interesting as the cleric hireling went poof in the first few mins - but still fun (and funny). Happy to go again whenever I catch you all online ^^

Ran this a few times with my new character (Davidleeroth).

Archers and sleet storms are a pain and there's a room towards the end that stuff keeps respawning in.

Good XP and a nice DPS challenge.

We have done a few Beth, me, zog and boris where the hireling have done stupid stuff like stand in acid, I think the last update they made them stupid or something, Proof in the Poison was fun, I think everyone died atleast once including the two hireling, Irestone on elite with some non guild members on elite...yea that didnt work well either, Freshen the air Zog had to carry 4 stones I think....but we do complete most of them and we do have fun as noone takes anything seriously (which you cant always say about PUG's)
